Be My Musical Soulmate?

I decided to use some of my photography to make my blogs more snazzy looking:

"Words make you think a thought
Music makes you feel a feeling
A song makes you feel a thought"

-E.Y. Harburg

So I saw this totally awesome thing on youtube today, and I thought it was a lovely idea. So basically I've chosen 5 songs that I've identified as "The Soundtrack To My Soul". So these are songs that I relate to, in my life, for whatever reason. It may be the lyrics or the beat or anything about the song that somehow... penetrates the very core of your being... so to speak :P. I'll probably do this again, because I think it's a really neat idea and I'm pretty sure one's soundtrack would constantly be changing, I know mine is :]

So my soundtrack is:

We Intertwined - The Hush Sound
Miserable At Best - Mayday Parade
Go On - Jack Johnson
You Know So Well - Sondre Lerche
Denmark - Jay Brannan

What's Yours?

Comments please?

Deep as a puddle

So I thought I should write a little something here, because I haven't written anything this week. And the reason I haven't written anything this week is because I haven't done anything interesting lately... so I decided to recycle some old artwork and unveil it to you beautiful people, as something new.. even thought it's not.. It was on my mind though because I had an idea of working on something similar now, just for kicks. So here it is, It doesn't look very nice in such a small size and low quality, but you get the idea:

So in an attempt to seem deep or insightful I'll explain some of the symbolism behind it:

It's supposed to depict hope. So all the darkness on the left side is the absence of hope while the lightbulb is the coming of hope and how it shines through the darkness. Also the contrast between the cartoon plants and the realistic landscape is supposed to depict the contrast between grief and hope.

Yeah, that's right.

I could leave but I'll just stay, all my stuff's here anyway.

I've come to terms with the fact that I have a small family.
It's kind of a fact. With only two aunts, one uncle and two cousins, who all happen to live a couple hours away from me, in comparison to most, I have a small family.
And that's fine, like I said, I've come to terms with that fact along time ago, what else can you do about it? They're my family.
But in the last year or so, I've become increasingly aware of the fact that my family is not, in fact limited to these five people. I realized that the term, "family" actually extends to include alot of people in my life, who I've never noticed how much I really care about. I can think of tons of people that have known me since I was born, or who were always there for me, or who have spent more time in my house over the years than I have. So I've realized that I kind of love these people.... yeah that's pretty much what I wanted to say.

So lately the pending issue of university has become more and more imminent. It's looming dangerously close. I've done a bit of research about which schools I'd be interested in, but I hadn't thought much about whether or not I'd like to stay at home, or leave. But alot of the schools I as looking at ended up being far away. So after a while I kind of just assumed I would move away, without even thinking about it. Well in the past week, I've thought about it... alot. I've realized that I'm nowhere near ready to go away. Only having just started to understand how important the people in my life are to me, I can't leave tehm all already. I feel like if I go, I'll never see any of these people I care about and love so much. Since they aren't actually a technical part of my famly they will no longer be obligated to visit me on a regular basis if I leave home.

These thoughts terrifies me D:
I think I'll just stay home.
I hate decisions and growing up.

P.S. Soup du jour: my family, Jim Glasgow's rad musical skills, underage drinking and bibbles.

I hate introductions <3

So.... my name is Katherine and I like to.. think about things? Then I like to talk about these things and try to make myself sound mildly intelligent.. fail. Then I got to thinking that perhaps my friends don't want to hear every single thought that enters my head, so maybe I should keep some thoughts to myself.. well that's too hard so I got a blog instead. That way people who actually care can hear some of my thoughts and share their own if they so wish.

So I guess I'll try to post some things of substance occassionally, but I'm sure there will aso be a healthy portion of my attempt at humour. ;)
For now, if you happen to be reading this, and actually don't know me unlikely, I think I should say a little bit about myself.

Ahem:

Things I like:
Laughing, animals, laughing animals, sociology, cheddar cheese, movies, flowers (even dandelions), guitars (preferrably acoustic), the late late show with Craig Ferguson, music, philosophy, painting my toenails (it makes me feel glamorous), reading people's blogs, british accents, libraries, century gothic fonts, the colour green, pianos, funny commercials, musicals, sad things: (books, movies, songs, anything really), these smiley faces: :], violins, bookmarks, oh and Michael J. Fox.

Things I don't like:
Multigrain bread, eraser dust, cat vomit, math, waching sports on tv, secret handshakes, yelling, pixelated pictures, baby vomit, decisions, watermelon seeds, the smell of newspapers, shirts with itchy tags, other kinds of vomit, arguments, scary movies, bossiness, t shirts with secret meanings, writing rough copies, reality tv, the smell of animal food, and bottled water.

So that's basically all you need to know. Likely none of this will have to do with any of my posts, but it was fun, just the same.

P.S. Also I have no idea what to write about in my blogs, so if you have some suggestions, please suggest.
